April is National Soyfoods Month. Soy is the only commonly consumed plant protein that is nutritionally complete. This means it contains all of the essential amino acids in sufficient quantities to help meet the body's requirement. It is a complete protein that is equal in quality to animal protein and is low in saturated fat, and cholesterol-free. Soymilk has many of the same important nutrients as cow's milk, including calcium, vitamin D, and protein.
