A first place winner of the Gourmand Cookbook Awards, Paris, France, Cooking in San Germán is a compilation of regional Puerto Rican recipes from some of the best cooks in San Germán. All the recipes included were tested by Marina Martínez de Irizarry, my mother, and Yuyú Alcaráz vda. de Vivoni, her good friend and co-author. The Spanish edition (1989) and the English (1990) have been out of print since 2012. I hope you enjoy this second edition and find the recipes so delightful you’ll cook them often. This second edition is as true to the original as possible and the recipes are the same as originally written. Keeping every part of this book as authentic as possible and as part of our family heritage is my primary goal.
