Group Home Menus Nutmeg Cycle
Group Homes are residences for children or adults unable to live independently with chronic disabilities requiring specialized care. Typically there are 4 to 6 residents of different functional ability living with trained caregivers. Some residents require total care and others are able to perform simple self-care tasks and do some work. The 6 weeks menus are liberalized; instead of therapeutic diets recipes are heart-healthy, moderate to low in fat, sodium & sugar. There is enough variety to be rotated either quarterly or every six months. Prepared following "Recipes for Group Homes" volume 1, they meet the nutritional needs of adults & elders & provide the average RDA requirements. Recipes are available in the cookbook Food for Group Homes (separate purchase).
