Cooking in San Germán, Puerto Rico
Cooking in San Germán is a compilation of regional Puerto Rican recipes by some of the best cooks in San Germán. All the recipes included were tested by Marina Martínez de Irizarry, my mother, and Yuyú Alcaráz vda. de Vivoni, her good friend and co-author. The book was originally published in Spanish in 1989, and the English edition in 1990. Both editions have been out of print and unavailable since 2012. My family has asked me for years to publish both books again so their children and grandchildren can have their own copies or can replace their worn out or lost copies. I have kept this edition as true to the original as possible unless needed by new technology requirements, however, the recipes themselves have not been changed or altered, except for those formatting changes. The 2018 edition also has a new cover to distinguish it from the 1989 and 1991 publications.
